Employment Information

Big Rig Power, known for its customer service and performance-driven approach, seeks an energetic, driven, and team-oriented Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic. This position best suits a licensed journeyman who enjoys working on-highway trucks and trailers, off-road equipment, and light-duty work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-time day shift 8-5 with some overtime as necessary
  • Occasional service truck work during the day
  • Working as part of a team and multitasking
  • Troubleshooting and mainly repairing on-road tractor/trailers but some off-road and light/medium duty trucks
  • Completing detailed paperwork and adhering to procedures.
  • Ensuring a safe work environment by following quality, health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Completing CVIP inspections on trucks, trailers and medium-duty vehicles
  • Performing other duties as required.
     

Qualifications:

  • Valid Alberta on or off-road journeyman ticket preferred with a red seal certification.
  • Valid CVIP license an asset.
  • Welding and fabricating skills are an asset but not required.
  • Light/medium duty experience is an asset but not required.
  • Some service trucks experience an asset but are not required.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and decision-making skills with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess a toolbox with essential tools.
  • Comfortable in a physically demanding, multitasking work environment; overtime may be required.
  • A Valid driver’s license, Class 3 or 1, is an asset.
